- Old school photo

Just looking back at some old black and white pictures from school days.
I remember this afternoon so well I was 8 at the time and for some reason only stayed in this school for one year.It was a non Catholic school and as we were Catholic we had to move to a Catholic one so that we could make our 1st Holy Communion.
Between the ages of 4 and 11 I went to four different schools.
I imagine at the time this was quite an ordeal but dont remember any particular emotions around these events.Could be the reason I stay put now and have never moved my girls around from school to school.
The school photographer seemed to have an imagination and took pictures of the children in action rather than just staring at the camera.
I was terrified of that hamster and must say even to this day I am nervous of picking up this type of creature.
My cardigan was navy blue and my dress was a second hand bought on the market and this too was navy blue in a satin material which I really liked except it stained very easy.
Do you have an old school photo to post?
Would be nice to hear a story from your school days
For those of you who couldnt make the birthday party for Susi I would like to share just a few photos of the dancing we did and also you will realise why it may be quiet around yahoo 360 this weekend it is because we are all sleeping to recover from dancing all night.
So enjoy your weekend I am going to sleep a while now

Hi Susi just wanted to wish you a great birthday and I hope you dont mind I planned a quick trip to your favourite Island just for a night and day. Any of your friends are welcome as John Travolta has lent us his plane and paid for everything.
This is the interior of the plane so you can sleep on the way home as I know you will be tired after your busy celebration'
On the way out there will be entertainment by the reincarnated Elvis and a film after dinner to get you in the Greek mood.
So grab as many tickets as you like tell your friends to hurry up as we set of for the airport to celebrate.
Once we land at the airport we will drive to the hotel and have dinner in a lovely Greek taverna of your choice. Here we can eat and eat and eat and drink some wine and Ouzo.

Some yummy salad followed by a choice of main courses.
Stuffed pep
pers and tomatoes
Spinach pie or cheese pie
Woops I lost the stifado and the gyros oh well you will have to imagine them as It is late !!
its ok I found the stifado now and the souvlaki for you
While we are having some desert maybe backlava and some frappe we will watch the Greek dancers and listen to the Greek music and you can get up and do a little dance for us on the table !
We can share your birthday cake with everyone in the taverna before we set back home and Yammas to all as we down our Sambuca in one.
On the return journey we can watch the old film and dream of many more happy holidays and birthdays.
So have a fantastic day Susi lots of love from Anne and thank you for always being there so cheerful and introducing me to other special friends on here that make 360 worth coming to.
Maybe one day we will get to meet up too. :)

I also brought your comfortable shoes with us in case your feet are tired after all that dancing (I know really they belong to your daughter but I dont think she will mind)and we bought you a nice picture to put on your newly decorated wall behind the sofa with your other Greek pictures Hope you like it;)

As it is Easter in Greece/Cyprus I thought it would be the right time to show some morepictures i took of some Easter displays i saw on my last trip.
It was a dull day so we had got in a taxi and went for a day out, the sun tried to shine but the rain won through at times.
But who cares I love new places and the constant sight of orange and lemon trees never ceased to amaze me.
These were taken in a restful park area where there was what appeared to be an old monastry.
In contrast to the bar opposite
It was in Agia Napa where a noisy crowd of football fans watching the Manchester United match I had left my mother there surrounded by attentive waiters eager to please the 'football mad Irish lady'
I loved the trees and shape of the building and the little old doors.
I have been to Greece in the past when it was Easter time That time I was in Kremasti on the west side of Rhodes where there is a very important church but it is so long ago now I forgot what church it was it was a beautiful experience lots of babies were christened on the Easter Saturday and then there was a lovely procession through the streets anybody could join in and we all carried candles it was very moving and peaceful.Little gifts were exchanged and all the children had painted eggs women carried baskets full of thenm and gave them out.The next day was lots of eating roasting the hogs on the spits( truly sorry if you are a vegetarian )and dancing and music galore.

I love the sea and beaches they are so relaxing and I like to watch the sea whilst listening to music.
I like to read whilst I am sitting on the beach it is one of my ideas of heaven.
The weather wasnt to good on my last trip to Protaras in Cyprus but I still managed to spend some time in the sea (Bbrrrrrrr chilly to say the least )and also strolling along the sea shore.
So for those of my friends (Jan !!!) who thinks I chose a war zone for my trip here are some pics especially for you ;)
Below is Nissi beach a few miles from Aiga Napa it was getting late so it was somewhat dull but it is a lovely beach the sea is turquoise and the sand is lovely and soft
Here is my mother who came on holiday with me she had just watched the football match in a local taverna ~~So she was getting out of 'hooligan mood' .
And below once again Annie in her usual state of excitement and exciliration at the thought of not having to go into work for a whole week
Or maybe it was the joy of knowing I could do my laundry in the lauderette at the hotel and maybe bump into a man who looked like the one in this advert :)
Oh and how could I forget about my lovely new friend George he was the Romanian night receptionist who spent part of his day lying on the beach fully clothed as you can see on a rock ...his only little Island to escape after his night shift.and.............he is setting me up with some voluntary work in Romania with accommodation whenever I am ready to go over there !!
Show us something shady.

Do you agree that the night receptionist from my hotel on holiday is a little shady or is he just shaded?
What happened the first time you were left home alone as a child?
